Issue #224 | December 24th, 2023

Merry Christmas Eve Shark!

And this Christmas Eve marks issue 224 of Shark Bites.

Plus, it means that we’re right in the middle of the 12 Deals of Christmas where we’ve been giving away tons of free goodies.

(Check your inbox for emails from Nick and I—we’ve been sharing one freebie per day. Or go to https://www.offlinesharks.com/christmas for the whole list…)

And speaking of goodies, let’s dive into all the goodies we have for you in this round of Shark Bites

Catch
catch of the week 3
      • To kick things off, Remote Millionaire, Norm “The Norminator” Thomas closes yet another SEO contract worth almost $3,400 in sales. Nice one Norm!
      • Then, Remote Millionaire, Chris Byrne, discovered a new foot-in-the-door service to offer in conjunction with REACH. (And by the way, REACH is currently on sale as part of the 12 Deals of Christmas. Info here: https://www.offlinesharks.com/christmas)
      • And last but not least, Martin Lane wrote in letting us know about some BIG wins. Including a $7,200 website rebuild among others. Great job!

Another great week. Thanks to everyone who wrote in with a win.

If you’d like to write in your wins and be featured, you can do so inside of the Remote Marketing Agency Owners Private Facebook Group. Remember to use “#win” so we can feature you in next week’s “Catch of the Week”.

Catch 2

Welcome to “Pirate’s Booty” – a curated stash of local marketing news and content for your reading pleasure.

Recently Google’s search results were hit by a “massive spam attack”. An attack that could be affecting up to millions of keyword phrases.

This spam attack is exploiting two things:

The ease of ranking for longtail phrases. And a loophole that is inherent in local search due to how the local algorithm works.

Anyway, this is an interesting article and worth reading here:

Google Search Overwhelmed By Massive Spam Attack

And on a somewhat ironic note, Google recently responded to an accusation of stealing a publisher’s content.

Long story short Google is using publisher’s content to use for Google’s rich results.

What does this mean for you and for Google at large? This free article gives some context and is worth a read if this interests you:

On this week’s Aloha Friday Local Marketing Jam Session we went live for:

The 2023 Holiday Extravaganza—With Special Guest, Jason Moran!

Since it’s Christmas Eve…

This week we went LIVE for the 2023 Holiday Extravaganza! This is a yearly Live Show we do around Christmas where we celebrate the past year, prepare for the coming year, and give away a lot of prizes and other goodies.

Sadly, you can no longer be there live.

(It pays to show up to the Live Show each and every Friday when we do it!)

However, you can catch the replay of it right here:

That’s almost it for this round of Shark Bites.

As always, thanks for playing—and also a Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.

Which is why I said almost above.

Because we still have the 12 Deals of Christmas going on right now.

Where you can get free gifts and trainings on a number of topics that are usually kept in the Offline Sharks Private Vault.

All the gifts can be found on the page below and will be updated daily.

Enjoy!

Attended the School of Hard Knocks. A former restaurant manager in Oklahoma, Tom always wanted to be self-employed and free from the butt-smooching of the corporate world. He wanted success bad enough that he picked up his family, including two small children and moved to beautiful Maui, Hawaii. Starting from zero, Tom embarked on building a local marketing consulting business. And promptly fell on his face! It seems Hawaiians were lovely people, until you tried to sell them something! But he persevered and learned from his mistakes. Today he's arguably one of the most successful in his niche and expecting to grow over 100% this year alone.
