Issue #226 | January 7th 2024
Welcome to the first 2024 issue of Shark Bites!
And what a great issue it is.
Because we just wrapped up launching our NEWEST course, The Lazy Agency Owners Growth Toolkit.
Thanks to everyone who hopped in!
And if you’re new around here, Shark Bites is our weekly digest where we share the latest and greatest of whatever is going on at Shark HQ that week.
So without further ado, let’s dive in…
- First, Remote Millionaire, Chris Byrne signs a recurring revenue client. Great job Chris! And just read his post for the big plans he has in 2024. We love the attitude Chris—I’ve got no doubt 2024 will be a big year for you!
- Next, Remote Millionaire, Joanne Westwood with a bunch of wins. Including, new GBP management clients and 3 new websites! Great job Joanne.
That was a small week of wins—but they add up. Now that we’re past the holiday rush, I hope you have time to write in a win this coming week.
If you’d like to write in your wins and be featured, you can do so inside of the Remote Marketing Agency Owners Private Facebook Group. Remember to use “#win” so we can feature you in next week’s “Catch of the Week”.
Welcome to “Pirate’s Booty” – a curated stash of local marketing news and content for your reading pleasure.
This week, let’s kick things off with an article about how Google is continuing to evolve its Search and Discover features.
This isn’t strictly local marketing related of course.
But it is a cool insight into how Google is approaching a changing landscape of user’s needs and technological change.
Plus, there is a section specifically on local searches which may spark some ideas for yourself or your clients.
Read it here:
How Google Blends Search, Social, Local, Shopping, AI, And Ads
When it comes to using AI for marketing, the biggest limitation is the prompts you use. After all, the right prompt will give you exactly what you’re looking for…
While a bad prompt won’t return anything useful.
That’s why I thought this article about a new type of prompt called ‘Tree of Thoughts’ was interesting. This is straight from Google DeepMind researchers and if you want to read it, you can do so here:
On this week’s Aloha Friday Local Marketing Jam Session we went live for:
How To Become The CEO Of Your Agency
Since we’ve been on the topic of being a ‘lazy agency owner’…
There is no ‘lazier’ job than being a CEO—at least in terms of how I’m using the word lazy.
Because being lazy isn’t about being a slob or not working hard.
It’s about leveraging your work.
So that you get rewarded for the work you do today for years to come.
Which is what being CEO is all about.
Leverage.
Anyway, the replay of the training is up now and you can find it here:
That’s all for now.
Welcome to 2024—and thanks for being a Shark.
Whether you’re brand new to our community or you’ve been here for years…
We’re glad to have you and to be able to grow together in the coming 12 months.
Mahalo,
Tom Gaddis
