Website Profit Monster Theme to The Rescue!

This was what I would call a super easy, successful, sale. A friend recommended my web development services to a friend. These are always the easiest leads to close— recommendations. Prior to this phone call I did my usual introduction phone call and forwarded her to the discovery form on my website. She made it clear that she only had a $2k budget for her website which isn't what I normally start at, but then again she's not looking for a super complex website.

At this budget I can get her a very easy basic website built. As a matter of fact, I think that ill use the Website Profit Monster theme and get it done even faster! I also want to point out at how simple and easy our communication between each other is. She accepts all of my opinions, advice, and recommendations. She isn't looking to tell me how to build the site or has a bunch of crazy ideas about how things should be done. She asked if I could edit her existing site, I told her no, and she agreed without really blinking. I get the feeling this will be an easy-peasy, smooth sailing website….

So during the call around 5-6 minutes in she said that her budget is pretty rock solid at 2k. I told her that my websites usually start at $3.5k but I would be able to get her something nice and efficient within her budget— enter Website Profit Monster.

In addition to a WPM build, I decided to use this as my foot in the door to upsell some SEO. I let her know some general info about my SEO and what it does (trying not to confuse her with tech babble). I told her that my usual monthly SEO rate starts at $747, but if she wants to include the first month with her build I would do it all for $2500. See how I did that? By agreeing to fit my website within her budget I was able to up-sell a first month of SEO at a small price reduction. Not to mention Im going to use a theme that I've previously created to get this site built in no time.

Circling back around, as to my initial thoughts about this being an easy project, she also agreed to use stock photography. By saving the photo #'s from deposit photos.com & emailing them to me for download I won't have to wait for a photographer. She also agreed to give me all of the written content before I started to work on the site… This is a dream client true because I won't be waiting for anything and the project will finish relatively quickly. A lot of websites get built with demo content, and we end up waiting for final content and images from the clients end. I charge an initial 1/2 or 2/3rd down and I won't get the final payment till wayyy later. I hate that..Anytime I can get a project started and finished at my pace— I get excited. I get all of the deliverables, build the site, bada bing bada boom.

Oh hey, she even offers to pay me all the cash up front, home run!

After reviewing this phone call I think I probably said Like over 50x so I think that is something I will , like, try to like, work on 🙂

Just an update on this one, I already got paid ….
